S & T Collaborium

The Collaborium is a website dedicated to the spread of Science & Technology. This is a website that focuses on the transfer of knowledge and open source technology using the state-of-the art on Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) that are being developed in Universities, Research Centers, private Corporations and Governments and using them in less developed countries to help sustain economic competitiveness and scientific and social progress.

Our website aims to steer readers towards places where they can focus on their capacity building. Also we try to help them locate Training & Seminars that are occurring. We believe that one of the fundamental goals of all people in the spheres of Information and Communications Technologies is the meeting of professionals to transfer knowledge, findings and ideas. Information and Communications Technologies are only as useful as those that create them and use them believe that they can be. Humans being social in nature learn best when they work together and share ideas. That is why the focus of this site is to foster collaboration among those in the ICT world.

Of special interest to use is how Information and Communication Technologies are used in developing countries, particularly in Africa. The advances in technology in recent years have been one of the driving forces shaping our world today. The quick pace and constant changes threatens to leave the less well off countries far behind, further widening the gap between rich and poor nations. We attempt to call attention to the work that is being done in developing countries in Africa, and try to unite them together to help further their development with each other, as well as with countries outside the continent. For example, Their are projects, largely based in the telecommunications sector, that are aimed at connecting rural areas to cities, as well as to international networks, in order to accelerate the growth of ICTs all over Africa. We wish to help spread this information.
